January: Week_01
2023 was ending, and my creative motivation was in a slump. The opportunities to create were clouded by doubt in my design and composition skills, preventing personal projects from coming to fruition. As a forceful way to establish a creative routine, I am attempting to create a collage for all 365* days of 2024. Hopefully, the goal of completing all days of the year can help me achieve :
A better understanding of composition
Color combinations
Simplicity over complexity
Storytelling
Typographic understanding
The start of this year-long project was scrapped together (as I had only scraps to use this week), but that’s the point… right?
I fell into my typical combination of typography and imagery compositions and had yet to leave my comfort zone. Most I am proud of this week, but there are a few that I am not a personal fan of. Looking back at the list of goals I created for myself, the achievement is slightly there with this set of collages; I still have another 51 weeks to go….
